Planning Your Unique Program

Do you wish you had more opportunities to perform?

Singers today can be pioneers on the frontier of the changing landscape in the performing arts in the new millennium and create ways to sing professionally more often. You are the best one to design a program unique to you because you know what music you are passionate about, and what your inner self wants to tell the world.

Where do you start?

It all begins with you---that is, really pondering what human values are of vital interest to you. WHY do you want to sing? If you feel as though you almost have no choice because you have something that begs for expression, you will be drawn to the setting of the framework for planning any musical program.

The Framework

  • Identify a plot, story line, or "the moral" of the program as done in TV shows, movies, and plays. In other words, what thoughts and feelings do you want the audience to be left with afterwards, either consciously or otherwise?

  • Think of what music you really love that could be woven around dialogue, poems, letters, visuals or other complements to illuminate the message you wish to communicate.
