What Resources are Needed
Resources to Consider
- If you are traveling to present your
program, the number of people involved will affect the fee that is necessary.
Initially it is a good idea to try to devise a program that you can
do with only yourself traveling and use a pianist that resides where
you are performing. Ideally, for the strongest artistic performance,
you will present you and your accompanist as a team.
- You can embellish the program with
another instrument, either played by yourself: autoharp, guitar, small
percussion instruments, etc. This adds to the tonal tapestry. It is
possible that a musician in the town in which you are performing could
play this instrument. It could be played by an advanced music student
if you are performing for a school. Another possibility is the use of
taped accompaniment on some selections.
- Your program can be enriched and expanded
with various multi-media techniques. Be aware of the logistics this
presents in transporting equipment, load-in/out needs, possibly using
the presenters equipment which may be less familiar, and other
challenges of incorporating multi-media equipment.
