Musical America International Directory of the Performing Arts. www.musicalamerica.com This is in most public libraries, and may also be purchased for about $115.00 It is the major resource in the business listing presenters of all sizes here and abroad, with addresses and phone numbers (not annotated) It shows all artist managers, their rosters, and agency reports. There are some feature articles.

Deutsches Bühnen Yahrbuch is the German-speaking countries’ companion to the above reference. It will be in some libraries and is readily purchasable in Europe.

Periodical publications are an invaluable source of current information: who is singing what, and where; what companies are performing; reviews of projects; and the inside news. These are available in libraries, large magazine stores, and by subscription. Periodicals in English include Opera News, Opera Monthly, Opera (from London) and L’Opera.
